This project involved the full redevelopment of a long-neglected property at 33 Hurlbut Street, Cambridge, transforming it into a modern, family-friendly home. Aligned with the evolving housing needs of the Greater Boston area, the redevelopment revitalized an existing structure, maximizing the potential of the site while respecting its history.
The original house had fallen into disrepair and held little value beyond the land it lie. Through thoughtful design, the property was reimagined into a welcoming, livable space, ready to serve future residents.
A key feature of the project is the landscape design. Rather than clearing the site entirely, the design preserved mature trees and leveraged the site’s natural topography, enhancing its unique character. This approach not only honors the property’s history but also contributes value and charm for future homeowners.
The landscape also prioritizes curb appeal, functional outdoor spaces, and considerate buffers for privacy, ensuring the home integrates seamlessly into the neighborhood while offering comfort and a sense of seclusion for its occupants.
