This project focused on designing a landscape plan that enhances resident livability, improves the public streetscape, and addresses the environmental impact of tree removals. Located in Boston’s Roslindale neighborhood—an area characterized by its mix of commercial and industrial uses—the site is defined in part by Canterbury Brook, a sensitive wetland under the jurisdiction of Boston’s Conservation Commission.
The brook’s presence played a major role in shaping the design, influencing the placement of buildings, driveways, and hardscape elements. As a result, much of the landscape programming is concentrated along Canterbury Street, where improvements include public-facing streetscape enhancements, accessible resident amenity spaces, and vegetated buffers that provide both ecological benefit and privacy screening.
To effectively communicate the design intent and regulatory compliance, a series of supplemental graphics were produced, including proximity diagrams and section elevations. These visuals supported both internal design reviews and presentations to city agencies, ensuring clarity and transparency throughout the approval process.
