This project reimagines an underutilized, town-owned parcel as a multi-functional space that addresses key local priorities: the need for housing, public greenspace, and increased tax revenue. It showcases how landscape architecture can play a pivotal role in driving economic development while fostering community well-being.
By taking a holistic view of the site and its regional context, the design proposes long-term, impactful solutions that extend beyond the boundaries of the project itself. The work highlights the role of landscape architects in shaping not just individual spaces, but also in contributing to the broader connectivity and resilience of towns and regions.
The design process included site visits, collaborative charrettes, and conversations with local residents to better understand community needs and aspirations. Importantly, the project’s graphic communication was tailored for a public audience—focusing on clarity, accessibility, and storytelling—so that ideas could be effectively shared with town residents, not just design professionals.
